Discover the Everglades by Land & Water
On this full-day program, you will be guided by an Institute Naturalist through the Everglades by land and water.
This engaging trip will give you insights on how and why Everglades National Park was formed, how human actions have affected the park in the past and present, and the different ecosystems that make up our park.
The van will make stops along our route at key locations, such as Royal Palm, Nike Missile Site, Pa-hay-okee Overlook, and Nine Mile Pond, where you will paddle along a trail of mangroves. In just one day, you’ll be sure to get the full Everglades Experience.
This program runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (5.5 hours), year-round.
Please arrive at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center 30 minutes before departure for check-in.
The program gives participants the opportunity to explore the Everglades on the way to Nine Mile Pond where there will be a guided paddle among the mangroves.
